Preston Family (Baby Zora) Postpartum Care
The Preston Family is excited to welcome Baby Zora in August 2025. Dr. Ashley Preston is a historian, and tenured Professor at Howard University. Mr. Marcellus Preston is also a University educator at Morgan State University. Together, they are busily raising 6-year old Carter Preston. Like so many kids his age, Carter has the energy of 100 kids. His high energy makes it fun to prepare him for his baby sisters arrival!
Baby Zora will be born a few weeks before Carter goes back to school for the year, so the Prestons will be experiencing several transitions at the same time! Just imagine what their sleep schedules will be like with Carter going back to school, a new born, and Mr Preston going back to work after a few weeks! Our overnight care will be key for the Preston family to navigate the newness of Baby care.
Baby Zora is scheduled to be born at the same hospital that the Preston's, and their organization, Carter G Cares, provide monthly support and resources for NICU families. This family, individually, and collectively, serve the community, and are themselves dedicated to making things easier for families with new babies. We are excited for you to give back to this family through donations to their postpartum care. Scroll down and hit the DONATE button.
The plan is for our Postpartum Live and Grow specialists to provide 120 hours (average of 4 hours per day) of care per month for a minimum of 3 months for the Preston family. Our team will be excitedly providing the following services for this family. The goal is to have friends and family cover most, if not all of their postpartum care hours. Please see below to donate, and for the update on hours paid for care.
Postpartum Care Services for the Preston Family:
- Meal Prep and meal delivery scheduling
- Home organization and cleaning
- Newborn and child laundry
- Overnight baby care and sleep support
- Couples care (ensure parents have time for self and each other as needed)
- Managing visitation schedule
($120= about 4 hours of overnight care + laundry, 12a-4a, which helps mom and dad can sleep)
