Despite what detectives told her, Dicks didn’t give up, and neither did the volunteers, including a woman and her dog who eventually found him.
“I think it’s really important for people to know to advocate for your family members,” Dicks said. “Don’t wait for the police or for detectives to move on things. If you feel like you can find them, do that."
